Description	:	Allan David Sole, the son of Clarence and Alleen (Smith) Sole, was born on January 8, 1938 on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on July 20, 2011 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 12 days. As an infant, Allan was baptized in the Methodist Church, Geneva, Nebraska. When Allan was 3 months old his mother passed away. Read More	Allan David Sole, the son of Clarence and Alleen (Smith) Sole, was born on January 8, 1938 on a farm near Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on July 20, 2011 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 12 days. As an infant, Allan was baptized in the Methodist Church, Geneva, Nebraska. When Allan was 3 months old his mother passed away. He was then raised by his Aunt and Uncle Frank and Dorothy Huston and his special cousins Carroll and Helen Ann of Geneva, Nebraska. He attended grade school in Geneva and graduated from Nelson High School. He was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. Upon graduating he entered the United States Air Force on April 5, 1957 and was honorably discharged on April 4, 1961, working as an Electrical Repair Technician. Allan was united in marriage to Karen Lavae Seefeld on September 18, 1964 in Nelson, Nebraska. This union was blessed with four children. Together they owned and operated the Ox Bow Motel for 28 years. Throughout Allan's years he worked as an Electronic Inspector in St. Louis, Missouri; he owned and operated a plumbing shop called "Little Al's" in Nelson, Nebraska; he was employed at McDonald Douglas, St. Louis, Missouri; later employed with the Nuckolls County Road Department, the City of Nelson; worked at Mid America Dairymen in the Maintenance Department in Superior, Nebraska; and was owner/operator of Al's Hardware and repair service in Nelson, Nebraska. He had many hobbies and interests including collecting Indian artifacts, family genealogy, and Nuckolls County History. He also enjoyed steam and gas engines. His pastime included hunting and fishing and also rock and arrowhead hunting. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #77 of Nelson serving as Past Master Mason, Eastern Star #27 of Nelson serving as Past Worthy Patron, Fort Butler Rock and Gem Club in Hebron, Nebraska serving as Past President and McDonald Douglas Rock and Gem Club, St. Louis, Missouri also serving as Past President. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Alleen Sole; and his Uncle and Aunt who raised him, Frank and Dorothy Huston of Geneva, and cousin Carroll. He will be dearly missed by his wife Karen of Nelson, Nebraska; four daughters, Deonna Edgar of Nelson, Nebraska and husband Brad of Grand Island, Nebraska, Barbara Roe and companion Richard Wagner of Hastings, Nebraska, Colleen Stone and husband Jeff of Maywood, Nebraska, Christine Johansen and husband Jeff of North Platte, Nebraska. 11 grandchildren Garett, Kara and Breanna Roe, Taylor, Justine and Hope Stone, Cohen and Darien Edgar, Ben Miller and Elizabeth "Eli" and Ryker Johansen; one sister, Marianne Stineman of Hastings, Nebraska and brothers, Clarence Sole and wife Beverly of Nelson, Nebraska and Arthur Sole and wife Barbara of Hastings, Nebraska; special cousin Helen Ann Ruh and husband Bill of Sargeant, Nebraska; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
