Description	:	Allen A. Jorgensen, age 64 of Coleridge, Nebraska, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Andreas Stein officiating. Burial will be at the Coleridge City Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Coleridge American Legion Post 114. Wintz Funeral Home of Coleridge is in charge of arrangements. Allen Albert Jorgensen was born on October 7, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa to Albert and Elva (Delozier) Jorgensen. He was raised in the Pleasant Valley, NE area and attended Liberty Country School there. Allen went to high school in Bloomfield, NE. Allen worked for Martin Janssen prior to joining the U.S. Army where he served from 1967-1969. He was wounded in Vietnam in 1968 and received the Purple Heart. After his discharge from the Army, Allen worked for Martin Janssen again. Allen was married to Marilyn K. List on August 17, 1968 in Yankton, SD. He and Marilyn lived in Verdigre, NE for 10 years before moving to Coleridge. Allen began working for Larry Paulsen and then for Craig Ebberson as a truck driver and ranch hand. Allen was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Coleridge American Legion Post 114. He liked hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a cowboy and loved working around horses. Allen is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Coleridge; 4 children and spouses, Troy Jorgensen of Tecumseh, NE; Tami and Robert Soares of Waverly, NE; Tanya and Kenneth Claussen of Wausa, NE; Tyson and Ginger Jorgensen of Waverly, NE; 7 grandchildren, Bailey and Hunter McKim, Rumer Soares, Brittanii and Jaxson Claussen, Ty and Beckett Jorgensen; two brothers Roger Jorgensen of Coleridge, Bruce Jorgensen of Wausa, NE; two sisters Laura Lind of Wausa, NE, and Joyce Milander of Morris, MN; sister-in-law Janet Jorgensen of Pioneer, CA; brother-in-law Kenneth Arenas of Lincoln, NE; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Carl Strivens, brothers Wayne and Dewey Jorgensen; two sisters Carol Hahne and Velma Arenas.
