McPheron, former Lima woman, whose husband was shot to death in Galveston, last Friday night, arrived in Lima Wednesday morning, accompanying the body of her late husband. Funeral services over the body of the former Lima man were being arranged today. Concerning the tragic death of McPherone, a dispatch for Galveston says: "With a pistol bullet imbedded in his brain, A. H. McPheron of Tulsa, OK., is dead and Mrs. R. H. Evelt, the mother of five children is under arrest charged with murder as the result of a shooting which occurred here at 9 o'clock this morning on a populous down town business corner. The dead man, who had been in Galveston but a few days, was an innocent bystander. Mrs. Evelt, who gave herself up to the police and who is now held on $500 bond awaiting a preliminary hearing tomorrow morning, according to her own story, had gone in search of her husband early this morning. She found him near the corner where the shooting took place and calling him to the side walk engaged in conversation. A scuffle between husband and wife ensued in which the pistol was fired and McPheron, who was conversing with a friend nearby fell to the sidewalk with the bullet in his brain. He died about two hours later at a local hospital, to which he was rushed. A Coroner's verdict of death due to a gunshot wound accidentally administered was pronounced this afternoon.
