He attended school in Creighton, Nebraska graduating in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960, and was stationed abroad providing support for military intelligence. Allen and Janell (Hill) were married in 1967 and lived much of their married life in the Creighton area before moving to Lincoln in 1992.
