Allen K. Harrold, son of John Joseph and Emily Harrold, was born June 12, 1915, at Newman Grove, Nebraska, and died October 1, 1959, at the age of 44 years,3 months, and 18 days. He lived his entire life at Newnan Grove except for war service in the Pacific area from 1942 to 1946. He was graduated from the Newman Grove high school with the class of 1934 . Allen Harrold was married to Margaret Spellman of Adams, Nebraska, on June 10, 1950. To this union were born two sons, Allen James, who is now 8 years old, and William Joseph who is 5 years old. Bud, as he was called by his friends, was well liked and respected throughout the community. Prior to the time his work took him out of town, he was a volunteer fireman. He was engaged in truck driving and at the time of his death was driving an oil transport for the Wheeler Company of Genoa. He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his wife, Margaret, and two sons, Allen James and William Joseph, his mother, Mrs. Emily Harrold, and his sister, Jane (Mrs. Howard Meyers) of Bakersfield, Calif. sister, Naomi (Mrs. Ed Masterleo) of Mentor, Ohio, three brothers, Arthur, John and Richard of Omaha, also half-brother, Marcellus, of Dayton, Ohio, and a half-sister, Mrs. Mildred Barnum. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends. He was raised in the local Methodist Church and was a long time member of the Newman Grove Methodist Church. Mrs. Emily Harrold, mother to Bud Harrold, and his and sisters attended the funeral. Many other relatives and friends were also present.
