OBITUARY: Funeral services were held at the Chain & Wood chapel at 2 o'clock this (Wednesday) afternoon for Allen Wickersham, aged 71, who died in Seward Monday forenoon. The services were in charge of Rev. Kenneth Downing, pastor of the Methodist churches at Tamora and Utica. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery. The deceased was born at Roxbury, Kan., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bayard Wickersham, but most of his life was spent in Seward county, the parents having moved here in an early day. The deceased is survived by his wife, Caroline, one son, Harold, and one grandson. There is also one brother, Walter Wickersham, of Seward, and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Knox of Beatrice and Mrs. Louis Booth of Lincoln. He had followed farming near Seward most of his life time, but had retired from the farm recently and moved to town. He was a good citizen, and was held in high regard by all who knew him.
