Description	:	OBITUARY: Carolyn Dixon Wickersham was born August 7, 1876, at Yorkshire, England. She was one of twelve children born to William and Jemina Dixon. The family departed for America on February 17, 1882, when Caroline was six years old. They came immediately to the Seward vicinity, being sponsored as immigrants by the Cattle family. November 19, 1893, Caroline Dixon became a member of the Seward Methodist church. At the time of her death, she held membership in this congregation longer than any other living person. She was one of twelve children born to William and Jemina Dixon. The family departed for America on February 17, 1882, when Caroline was six years old. They came immediately to the Seward vicinity, being sponsored as immigrants by the Cattle family. November 19, 1893, Caroline Dixon became a member of the Seward Methodist church. At the time of her death, she held membership in this congregation longer than any other living person. November 13, 1901, Caroline Dixon and Allen M. Wickersham were married in the Seward Methodist by Rev. John Gallagher. The couple established their home on a farm east of Seward. Upon retiring they moved into Seward in 1938. Mr. Wickersham died September 23, 1947. In addition to her church membership which numbered over 73 years, Caroline Wickersham was a member of various women's organizations in the church, including in later years, The Women's Society of Christian Service. She was honored together with other long time church members, at a special church service last year. She held membership also in the Eastern Star. She is survived by a son, Harold, Seward; two grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a granddaughter. Services were held Monday, January 30, 1967, at 2 p.m. at the Wood Chapel, Seward. Rev. Raymond Neuetzman officiated. Mrs. Victor Gravel was organist. Pallbearers were Marvin Russnogle, Walter Jeary, Robert Jeary, Richard Wehrs, William Dixon and Louis Kriz. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery.
