Read More	Allen Taylor Norwood 79, of Norlina, NC died Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home. Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Sadie Stevenson Norwood and George Chambers Norwood. Mr. Norwood was retired from the N.C. Forest Service, where he served for thirty-four years. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and served in the National Guard. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Julia Alliger and Pastor Steve Cannon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Jacqueline Rose “Jackie” Norwood, one son, Michael Allen Norwood (Cindy); three grandchildren, Rebecca Norwood, Samantha Norwood and Kelly Norwood. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Norwood and a brother, Jerry Lee Norwood. The family will receive friends Monday, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church. All other times they will be at the home of Mike and Cindy Norwood. Serving as pallbearers will be Maurice Wayne Hendrick, Steve Hendrick, Charles Tyler Crabtree, Eric Fleming, J.C. Harden, Junior Manning, Ricky Gill, Dale Fleming and Ricky Bryant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church c/o Ruth Moss 1705 Allison Cooper Road Henderson, NC 27537 or to Community Home Care and Hospice 152 Zeb Robinson Road Henderson, NC 27537.
