EDGAR KING WHO DIED IN RED OAK Funeral services were held at the Wolfe Funeral Home Wednesday November 28, at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Edgar King of Red Oak, who died Monday at the Murphy Memorial Hospital of a heart attack. Allie Florence Thogmartin, daughter of Emmett and Elizabeth Thogmartin, was born November 10, 1888 in Spickard, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Edgar King on March 8, 1907, at Spickard and to this union two children were born, Lucille and Elester. The family moved to Villisca February 14, 1922, where they resided until 1942, they moved to Red Oak. Mrs. King had been in ill health for a year and was 57 years old at her death. She was a member of the Christian Church at Spickard, where she retained her membership. Besides leaving her husband of Red Oak, and daughter, Mrs. Wayne Swanson of near Morton Mills, and her son, Lester King of Villisca, who recently received his discharge form the army, she laves also four sisters and a half brother. The sister and Mrs. Mack Ellis, Trenton, Missouri, Mrs. Harry Butler and Mrs. Herbert Shellhorn, Erie, Kansas, Mrs. Ida Barnes, Cedar Falls, Iowa and half brother, Otto Thogmartin, Kansas City, Missouri. One sister, Elmira Trainer, preceded her in death. There are 3 grandchildren, Glenda Carol, Nedra Joyce, and Patricia Elaine Swanson.
