Description	:	Alma Knutson, 95, Billings, MT, formerly of Minot, ND and Kenmare, ND, died Friday, November 5, 2021 in her daughter's home in Billings, MT. Alma Evangeline Dunderland was born on May 14, 1926, a daughter of Pedar and Olga (Hagen) Dunderland in Bottineau, ND. She was raised and educated in Bottineau, graduating from Bottineau High School in 1944. She furthered her education and earned her Standard Teaching Certificate. Read More	Alma Knutson, 95, Billings, MT, formerly of Minot, ND and Kenmare, ND, died Friday, November 5, 2021 in her daughter's home in Billings, MT. Alma Evangeline Dunderland was born on May 14, 1926, a daughter of Pedar and Olga (Hagen) Dunderland in Bottineau, ND. She was raised and educated in Bottineau, graduating from Bottineau High School in 1944. She furthered her education and earned her Standard Teaching Certificate. Alma began her teaching career teaching in a one room school house along the Mouse River. It was here she met a young man named Victor Knutson, who was simply at the school to repair the heating system. On December 30, 1945, Alma was united in marriage to Victor Knutson in Bottineau, ND. They made their home on a farm near Norma, ND, where together they raised their four daughters. They remained active grain farmers until 1990, when they retired and in 1998 moved to Minot. Alma enjoyed gardening, quilting, painting, baking buns and working with her flowers. She was an active member of the Evanger Lutheran Church, where she was the church organist for over 50 years. She would often times share her beautiful flowers with an arrangement on the Alter. Alma also volunteered at the Kenmare Baptist home for a number of years. Alma is survived by: daughters, Luana Gilbert, Audrey (Ron) Wirtz, Vicki (Rolly) Ackerman, and Penny Brown; grandchildren, Paula Gilbert, Becky Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Corey Wirtz, Heidi Egeberg, Duncan Ackerman, Ryan Ackerman, Stacy Johnson, Brandy Hartman, Toni Walters and Jodi McDevitt; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; a sister Gladys Lenhardt; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Victor, granddaughter, Tracy Wirtz; a brother Oliver, sister Pearle Carlson and a son-in-law Steven Gilbert. Visitation: Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4pm until 6pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Funeral Service: Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11 am at Evanger Lutheran Church, rural Tolley, ND Burial: Evanger Lutheran Cemetery, rural Tolley, ND Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND
