She was 95 years young. Born in Mora, MN., 0n July 23. 1910, to Henry and Anna Ponsor Lilienthal. Alma's family moved to the Miles City area when she was 4 years old. It was there at a school dance she meet Vernon Handley. They married on April 12, 1930 -- a union that lasted 68 years. Together, they had the Range Riders Photography Studio in Miles City. They had two children, Vernon Jr. and Rita Mae. In 1956, Vernon and Vern moved to Anchorage. AK, wher Vern became the head jailer and Alma, the matron of the local jail. They returned to Montana in 1958 and settled in Billings. Alma enjoyed crocheting. playing solitaire, bingo, dancing and attending the Handley Family Re-Unions near Clinton, MT. She and Vern could always be found at the South Park Senior Citizens Center. In 2003, Alma became a resident of Westpark Retirement Village. She enjoyed her time there and was well cared for by the staff. Her joy came from spending time with family …. playing Rummikub with granddaughter, Sue, and attending family barbecues and dinners. She will be missed. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Handley Sr.; son, Vern Handley Jr.; daughter, Rita Mae Olson; grandson, Dale Anderson; and two brothers, Ted and Floyd Lilienthal
