Description	:	Irene was born August 17, 1918, in Kenmare, ND, the daughter of Bennie and Elsie (Rytter) Hansen. She was reared and educated in Kenmare, and lived her entire life in Kenmare. The past seventeen winters Marvin and Irene spent in Mesa, Arizona. On November 21, 1947, she married Marvin Gravesen in Kenmare. They lived in Kenmare, where she was organist for Nazareth Lutheran Church for over fifty years, playing for many area funerals and weddings. Irene was very devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She spent much of her time playing the organ or piano for her own enjoyment as well as playing for many others. She enjoyed being with family and friends. She was a lifetime member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, and WELCA, and was also a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all Kenmare. Those Most Honored to Share in Her Life Are: Husband, Marvin Gravesen, Kenmare; Sons, Kenneth and Gary "Tex" Gravesen, both Kenmare; Daughters, Beverly Steinbaugh and her husband Rex, Omaha, NE; Linda Potter and her husband Jim, Kenmare; Gayle Johnson and her husband, Dennis, Washburn, ND; and Gay Larsen and her late husband Tracy, Kenmare; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; Brothers, Dr. Kenneth Hansen and his wife Adell, Polson, MT; Sister-in-law, Molly Hansen, Kenmare; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Vernon "Bud" Hansen; First Husband, Bernhard C. Boepple; Son-in-law, Tracy Larsen.
