Description	:	Vernon L. Hansen, age 57, Kenmare Postmaster, died at his home in Kenmare Sunday morning, March 19th, from an apparent heart attack. Hansen had been a patient in a Minot Hospital for several days receiving treatment for an attack suffered about a month ago. He returned home from the hospital on March 4th, after two weeks of hospitalization. Funeral services are being held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. in Nazareth Lutheran Church with Rev. McCulley, Marvin Lindquist, John Odland, Rolland Krieger and Lee D. Christensen. Interment will be made at Lakeview Cemetery in the spring. Mr. Hansen was born July 15, 1920, in Crosby, the son of Bennie and Elsie Hansen. He moved with his family to Kenmare in 1922 and was graduated from Kenmare High School in 1938. He entered the Army in 1942, was discharged in 1945, and married Muriel McConnell July 17, 1945, in Kenmare. Mr. Hansen began employment at the Kenmare Post Office in 1940 and was appointed postmaster April 16, 1966. He was a member of Nazareth Church and the church choir, the Minot Elks Lodge, the Kenmare Lions Club and Association of Commerce. He was a former member of the Kenmare Fire Department and had been school treasurer for several years. Survivors are his wife Muriel; a daughter, Mrs. Jere (Susan) Fryett, Drumhelley, Alberta; brother, Dr. Kenneth R. Hansen, Missoula, Mont.; sister, Mrs. Marvin Gravesen, Kenmare; and one grandson.
