Coffelt Funeral Service, Sandpoint, is in charge of the arrangements. Alma Jane Wendel was born February 8, 1929, in Persia, Iowa, the daughter of John and Alma (Wendel) Hamann. She attended public schools in Harrison County and Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. She married Donald Eugene Girton on September 14, 1946, in Hiawatha, Kansas. They lived at several U.S. Air Force bases, while Donald was serving in the Air Force, until Donald retired and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. They later moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, to be near their daughter, Wendy, and her family. Surviving are her husband, Donald; two daughters, Dr. Marci Girton of Andover, KS, and Wendy (Jerry) Corbett of Sandpoint; and six grandchildren, Melody and Timothy Mustaine Jr., and Whitney, Cody, Dustin and Scott Corbett. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, four sisters, Ida Knauss, Betty Meadows, Lue Peters and Donnabell Hamann, three brothers, Orval Hamann, John Hamann and Robert Hamann, her former son-in-law, Timothy Mustaine Sr., two nieces, Beverly Jorgensen and Kristine Garner, two nephews, Kenneth Hamann and Steven Hamann and one great-nephew, Douglas Hamann.
