The passing of this good woman brought a sense of sorrow to many who had known her during the long years of her residence in this city. These many friends extend their profound... Read More	Mrs. Almira Curtis Died at Son's Home Mrs. Almira Curtis, 93, passed away last Wednesday, September 25, at the home of her son, E. M. Curtis, 1114 9th Street, in Auburn. The passing of this good woman brought a sense of sorrow to many who had known her during the long years of her residence in this city. She possessed a kindly and sympethic nature; was always helpful, and tolerant of the opinion of others. She was a worthy example to those who had the privilege of being associated with her. These many friends extend their profound sympathy to the members of the family. Almira Mann was born in New Hampshire, July 31, 1847. There she grew to womanhood, and on May 7, 1863 was married to Henry Curtis, the ceremony being performed in Vermont. To this union eleven children were born, seven of whom are still living; Mrs. Nettie Krause of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Prudence Brown, Omaha; Elwin Curtis, Oakland, Calif.; George Curtis, Omaha; Ebbie Curtis, Sherman Curtis and Phines Curtis, all of Auburn. At an early age she united with the Methodist church. She carried with her into her daily life the principles of her faith, and thereby manifested the gentle and kindly characteristics of her nature. Funeral services were held at 10:00 Friday morning at the Armstrong funeral home, conducted by Rev. J. LaVerne Jay, pastor of the First Methodist church. Music was furnished by Mrs. C. R. Hacker and Mrs. Lona Green, who sang "Rock of Ages," "Abide With Me," and "Sometime We'll Understand". The piano accompaniment was played by Mrs. J. LaVerne Jay. The pallbearers were; Robert Ward, Claud Anderson, Mark Anderson, Steve Combs, Floyd McKenney and Chas. Shiveley. Interment was made at Glenrock cemetery.
