Description	:	Henry M. Curtis was born in Bedford township, Canada, August 11, 1836 and died at his home in Glenrock, Nebr., January 6, 1927, age 90 years, 4 months and 26 days. In 1864 he was married to Miss Almara (sic) Mann and moved to Delhia, Delaware County, Ia., and resided there until 1868, when he moved to Nemaha county, Nebraska, living here until his death. In 1864 he was married to Miss Almara (sic) Mann and moved to Delhia, Delaware County, Ia., and resided there until 1868, when he moved to Nemaha county, Nebraska, living here until his death. To this union eleven children, eight sons and three daughters, one son dying in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Keough died August 14, 1916. Edwin, Sherman, Earl, Ebbie and Phines reside in Nemaha county, George and Edwin of Omaha, Nebr.; two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Krause and Prudie Wanrow of Denver, Colo. There are 36 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Grandfather Curtis was well known and highly respected by all the early settlers of this county. He was a freighter across the plains from Brownville, Nebr., to Denver, Colo., in the latter sixties and as the Indians were on the warpath, he was facing the hardships and dangers of frontier life. He will be missed by his aged wife, who has shared his hardships and joys for over 60 years. He will also be missed by his children and grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were at the house. They were conducted by Rev. Green of Julian. The six sons were pallbearers and the remains were laid to rest in Old Glenrock cemetery.
