Elmer and Electa Menagh, was born in Franklin County, Nebraska, January 15, 1901 and passed away at Holdrege, Nebraska, October 25, 1972 at the age of 71 years. She was united in marriage to William Poehlman in 1918 and to this union two sons were born, Gerald and Cleatus. He passed way in 1927. Gerald passed away in the service of his country in the Battle of the Bulge in 1945 and Cleatus passed away in 1958. She was united in marriage to Sabin Poehlman in 1929, and he preceded her in death in 1968. Most of... Elmer and Electa Menagh, was born in Franklin County, Nebraska, January 15, 1901 and passed away at Holdrege, Nebraska, October 25, 1972 at the age of 71 years. She was united in marriage to William Poehlman in 1918 and to this union two sons were born, Gerald and Cleatus. He passed way in 1927. Gerald passed away in the service of his country in the Battle of the Bulge in 1945 and Cleatus passed away in 1958. She was united in marriage to Sabin Poehlman in 1929, and he preceded her in death in 1968. Most of her life was spent in the Mascot-Atlanta community, moving to Holdrege in 1958 which has since been her home. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church of Atlanta and participated in church activities as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death also by two brothers, Harry and Claude Menagh. She is survived by one sister, Grace Behrens of Salem, Oregon; two grandchildren, Cynthia, daughter of Ellen and Cleatus Poehlman and her husband Richard Nelson of Lincoln, and Bruce, son of Ellen and Cleatus Poehlman, also of Lincoln; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were conducted at the United Methodist Church, Atlanta, October 28, 1972 with Rev. Bill Jardine officiating. Soloist was Earl High with Mrs. Harlan Hock organist. Pallbearers were John Ivey, Albert Holste, Virgil David, Kenneth Broeker, Rex Cook, and Jarvis Miller. Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery with Mitchell Funeral Home, Oxford, directing arrangements.
