(Bard) Briden. She is survived by a brother, Roger Briden, Boulder, Colorado and a nephew, David Briden, Van Meter, Iowa. Altamae received a Master of Library Science from the University of Indiana. She was a reference librarian at the main library branch of Siox City Public Library and was manager of the Morningside Branch of Siox City Public Library from 1973-1977. She was then a... Read More	Altamae Briden, 72, of Findlay, died at 5:08 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born on May 28, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa to Preston V. and Ida M. (Bard) Briden. She is survived by a brother, Roger Briden, Boulder, Colorado and a nephew, David Briden, Van Meter, Iowa. Altamae received a Master of Library Science from the University of Indiana. She was a reference librarian at the main library branch of Siox City Public Library and was manager of the Morningside Branch of Siox City Public Library from 1973-1977. She was then a reference consultant for libraries in the Southwest Library System, based in Dodge City, KA from 1978-1982 and was then a reference librarian for Findlay/Hancock Public Library from 1983-2003. She was a member of Iowa Library Association, Kansas Library Association, Ohio Library Association and a life-time member of the American Library Association. Altamae was a twenty-two year member of the Progressive Reading Circle Club where she held several offices including treasurer, secretary, vice president and president. According to her wishes, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Thompson officiating. Private interment will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Janesville, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, 206 Broadway, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
