Description	:	Having been in failing health, Alvin Wallenstein died suddenly at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center in Lennox, SD on Saturday morning, Apr. 21, 2007. He attained the age of 90 years, six months and 23 days. Funeral services were held for him at the Dindot-Klusmann Chapel at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 24. Officiating was Rev. Wayne Reed. Alvin Edward Wallenstein was born on a farm two miles east of Lennox on Sept. 28, 1916, the son of Will and Grace (Reiners) Wallenstein. He attended rural school and grew up there. He served in the US Army during World War 11. On Dec. 24, 1944 he was united in marriage to Lillian Nickerson in Sioux Falls. Following their marriage they lived in Sioux Falls and moved to their farm west of Tea in 1948, where they had since lived. While living in Sioux Falls Alvin owned and operated a Sanitary Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, who died suddenly on Oct. 23, 2006; his father, Will, on Sept. 15, 1971; his mother, Grace, on Jan. 26, 1980; two brothers: Garold in 1915 and Dick in 1949 and his twin sister, Elnora, in 1918. Grateful for having shared his life are two sons and their wives, Richard and Ming Wallenstein of Germantown, Maryland and Robert and Kassie Wallenstein of Placentia, California; four grandchildren: Monte, Alvin, Kirsten and Jenna; one great-grandson, Samuel and other relatives and friends.
