Description	:	Services were held Saturday, Oct. 28 at Living Hope Community Church in Tea for Lillian Wallenstein who died suddenly in Tea, while enroute to the hospital, on Monday morning, Oct. 23, 2006. She attained the age of 89 years, 11 months and four days. Officiating during the service was the Rev. Wayne Reed. Ardis Fischer was organist. David Friese sang "Amazing Grace" and "Blessed Assurance" and Darlene Friese was pianist. The pallbearers were Larry Burma, Don Baker, Dean Otten, Bob Nickerson, Jerry Nelson, and Jeff Nelson. Interment was held in the Lennox Cemetery. Lillian Priscilla Nickerson was born at Spencer, IA on Nov. 19, 1916, the daughter of Edward James and Marie Blanche (Desgagne) Nickerson. She graduated from high school in Truman, MN and then attended Sioux Falls College. On Dec. 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to Alvin Wallenstein in Sioux Falls. Following their marriage they lived in Sioux Falls and moved to their farm west of Tea in 1948, where they had since lived. Lillian had been employed in Sioux Falls for Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Sam's SuperValue and K-Mart until her retirement. Lillian was a charter member of Living Hope Community Church in Tea. She was devoted to her husband and remained dedicated to her fellow employees at K-Mart. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Arthur, Stanley and Clifford Nickerson; one sister, Alice Kline. She was the last surviving member of the Edward Nickerson family. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Alvin; two sons and their wives, Richard and Ming Wallenstein of Germantown, Maryland and Robert and Cassie Wallenstein of Placentia, California; four grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
