Description	:	Alvin was the son of George Alfred Kline & Mary Ann Bealor. He was born John Alvin Kline, but later went by Alvin, Al, & A.J. Kline. Alvin & Fannie had 3 children: Leslie, Laurence, & Irene Henrietta Kline (married 26 May 1927 to Harry L. Gohner). A. J. Read More	Alvin was the son of George Alfred Kline & Mary Ann Bealor. He was born John Alvin Kline, but later went by Alvin, Al, & A.J. Kline. Alvin & Fannie had 3 children: Leslie, Laurence, & Irene Henrietta Kline (married 26 May 1927 to Harry L. Gohner). A. J. Kline Called to Rest Alvin John Kline, 76, passed away at his home in northeast Conrad at 1 p.m. Saturday after a stroke Thursday. It was the first time the new Resuscitator had been put into active use since being purchased through donations about a year ago. Mr. Kline was born December 2, 1876 at LaSalle, Illinois, son of Geo. and Mary Bealor Kline. He came to Iowa at the age of 5 with his parents, settling in Melrose Township in Grundy County. On May 26,1898, he was united in marriage with Fannie Fink. They began housekeeping in Felix Township where they lived for 10 years. They then moved to Melrose Township where they resided for 44 years, moving from the farm to Conrad about 2 years ago. They lived in the apartment house belonging to the late Harry Frederick. Mr. Kline united with the Alice Church of God at the age of 21, and was a devoted worker in the church until he suffered a stroke about 3 years ago. He retired from farming some years ago, but was an active salesman in the Clarke seed corn company for several years. He continued to be active up to the time of his recent illness. He was a great reader, and enjoyed his pastime very much, especially in his past few years. Mr. Kline leaves to mourn his death, his wife; 2 sons, Leslie and Laurence of Conrad, and a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Irene) Groves of Des Moines. Also 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother and sister, Orville F. Kline and Lillian M. Kline; both of Seattle, Wash. The body was taken to the Johnston Funeral Home. Mr. Kline cultivated a sense of humor, and was well-liked by all who knew him. He was a source of encouragement to any who needed it, and endeavored to be a friend to all. He was strongly devoted to his God. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Alice Church of God with Rev. B. T. Yeager in charge. Music was furnished by a quartet, composed of O. J. Stover, Ralph Phillips, Dale Bockes and Jack Hughes, accompanied by Mrs. Clark Brindle. They sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down The Valley." Casket bearers were George Crouse, Walter Minnich, Robert Kopsa, John Bockes, Wm. Veld and Robert Furland. Flower bearers were Mesdames Wilbur McWilliams, Willard Dielschneider, Chas. Mooty Jr. and Janet Halley. Interment was in the Alice cemetery.
