Description	:	Alvin Leo Plucar, 91, of rural Elberon, Iowa passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Keystone Care Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Burial will take place at National Cemetery in Vining, Iowa with military honors. Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine and will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Alvin was born in the rural Clutier area on March 28, 1926 to Alphonse and Emma (Dostal) Plucar. Following York Township Country School, Alvin worked for his uncle on the farm, later joining the Air Force where he graduated from Laredo Army Air Field in Laredo, Texas as a member of the bomber combat crew. On October 24, 1950, he married Martha Ledvina at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Vining. The couple farmed near Clutier until 1969, when they purchased the family farm near Elberon. Together they raised their five children. Alvin enjoyed dancing, polka music, woodworking, and card club in which he attended the first Friday of every month for forty years. He was known to have the gentlest Angus cows in Tama County. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Belle Plaine and the Clutier American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Martha Plucar of Keystone; daughter-in-law, Ruth Plucar of Conroy; children, Greg (Renita) Plucar of Luzerne, Shirley (Kent) Warnke of Lakeville, Minnesota, Carol (Bret) Durbin of Jefferson, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Plucar; son, Dennis Plucar and son-in-law, Roger Vileta.
