The son of George William and Ada Pearl Walker Lambert, he was born on June 26, 1927, in Elliot Township, Louisa County, Iowa. He married Ola A. McElhinney on December 7, 1946, in Garland, Iowa. Read More	Alvin Paul Lambert Alvin Paul Lambert, age 83, of Morning Sun, Iowa, died Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2010, at the Morning Sun Care Center. The son of George William and Ada Pearl Walker Lambert, he was born on June 26, 1927, in Elliot Township, Louisa County, Iowa. He married Ola A. McElhinney on December 7, 1946, in Garland, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2000. Alvin graduated from Oakville High School in 1945, and from Bailey Technical School in St. Louis, Missouri in 1954. He was an engineer on towboats for the Illinois & Ohio River Towboats. He also worked at various jobs locally in Morning Sun. He was a member of the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Garden Club, the Lions, and the 4th of July Committee all of Morning Sun. He enjoyed woodworking, metal working, roses and baseball. His family surviving includes two sons, Ron and Pam Lambert of Beavercreek, Ohio and Paul and Jennifer Lambert of Orange City, Iowa; two daughters, Ada and Art Potratz of Cedar Rapids and Marie Woodrow of Morning Sun; seven grandchildren, Briley Lambert, Craig and Michelle Potratz, Amy and Justin Hummel, Eric and Allison Lambert, Laura and Eric Rawson, Ethan Lambert, and Edan Lambert; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Potratz, Anthony Potratz, William Potratz and Charlotte Lambert; a friend, Helen Henderson of Mediapolis; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lois McElhinney of Danville, Nancy McElhinney of Morning Sun, Gladys Parish of Wapello, Dorothy and Pete Kerr of Wapello, Verla and Jim Bigger of Media, Illinois, Celia Murphy of West Burlington, Pauline and Dick Metzger of Morning Sun, Bill and Celia McElhinney of Morning Sun and Hubert and Bev McElhinney of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ola; a son-in-law, John Woodrow; and brothers-in-law, Harold McElhinney, Dale McElhinney, Dean Parish and Dick Murphy. The funeral ceremony for Alvin Lambert will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the Sharon Reformed Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Robert L. La May. Burial will follow at the Sharon Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. today at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Morning Sun. The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the funeral. A Memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Morning Sun Community Ambulance Service.
