Description	:	Alvin Dravland, age 86 of Bottineau, died Thursday at a Bismarck care center. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau. Alvin Theodore Dravland, a son of Albert and Lillian (Fagerlie) Dravland, was born on May 26, 1928 at Duluth, MN. At a young age, he moved with his family to Landa, ND for a short time before moving to a farm just west of Bottineau. He attended country school and and received his GED later in life. He entered the US Navy June 29, 1951 and served during the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged on June 16, 1955. He married Clarice Bergh on November 25, 1955 at Sinai, SD. They moved to Tolley, ND where Alvin farmed before returning to the Dravland family farm. He farmed and raised dairy cattle. In 1977, he changed to a beef cattle operation. He retired from farming in 1978. He drove school bus for many years and also did custom haying in the area. Clarice passed away on December 7, 2012. Alvin was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau where he served on the church council and was active in adult Bible study. He served as a Cub Scout Leader for many years. He was the chairman of the Bottineau County Food Pantry for many years. He was soil and wildlife conservationist, he enjoyed planting trees and habitat. He is survived sons, Paul Alvin Dravland of Souris and David Keith Dravland of Ft. Collins, CO; daughter, Sara Lynn Gunsch (Bryon) of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Lily Clarice Gunsch of Minneapolis; brothers Ordean Dravland of Aurora, CO and James Dravland of Sioux Falls, SD and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Faith Marie Dravland; an infant son; a granddaughter, Ariana Faith Loustaunau Dravland; and a brother, Lyle Dravland.
