Description	:	Alvina L. Parkinson, age 70, of Kenmare, died Tuesday, May 5, 1987, at the Kenmare Community Hospital. Her funeral was held Friday, May 8th, 1987, at 2:00 p.m at the United Methodist Church with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery, both of Kenmare. Officiating for the service was Rev. Mark Bittner with special music provided by Lyle and Sue Johnsen. Casketbearers included her six grandsons, Gary, Chad, Shawn, Troy and Mike Parkinson, and Kevin Pumarlo. She was born on August 8, 1916 in Spencer Township of Ward County, a daughter of Ludvig and Alice Grenvik, and was raised in the Ward and Mountrail County areas around their home in Spencer Township where she also attended school. She married Leonard Parkinson at Kenmare on January 1, 1936 and they lived and farmed east of Kenmare until moving into Kenmare in the early 1970s. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the East Side Birthday Club, both of Kenmare. She is survived by her husband of Kenmare; sons, Richard of Helena, MT, Roger, and Dennis, both of Fargo; daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Pumarlo of Kenmare; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Sally) Tenderholt of Stanley, Mrs. Berlin "Bill" (Joy) Ankenbauer of Kenmare and Mrs. Delores Hagerud of Bozeman, MT; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Grenvik of Dunsmuir, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Thompson-Larson funeral Home of Kenmare is in charge of arrangements.
