Description	:	Leonard B. Parkinson, age 86, of Kenmare, died Saturday, August 26th, 1989, at the Trinity Medical Center of Minot. His funeral was held Tuesday, August 29 at 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church of Kenmare. Officiating for the service was Rev. Donald E. Andrews, Chaplain at the Trinity Medical Center of Minot. Organist was Mrs. Wanda Rodin. Vocalist was Lyle Johnson. He was born on May 15, 1903, at Carpio, ND, a son of Fred and Willora (Benedict) Parkinson. He attended schools at Carpio and Donnybrook for his education and then farmed with his family. He was married to Alvina Grenvik of Kenmare on January 1, 1936 and they lived and farmed east of Kenmare. They moved into Kenmare in the early 1970s and she died on May 5, 1987. He had remained in Kenmare since that time. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and had served on the church board. He served on the Kenmare Township Board, the Farmers Union Creamery Board, and the Farmers Union Shipping (Cattle) Association Board. He had also belonged to the Ancient Order of United Workmen at one time. He is survived by his sons, Richard of Helena, MT, Roger of Grand Forks, and Dennis of Fargo; daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Pumarlo of Kenmare; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Arthur of Arlington, WA, and Murph of Marysville, WA: and a sister, Louise Frederick of Milton-Freewater, OR.
