Alyce was born February 8, 1933 to Herbert and Martha(Meyer)Koglin, on the family farm south of Scribner, NE.She was baptized at St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church and confirmed at United Lutheran Church in Scribner, NE. She attended Scribner Public Schools. Alyce married Donald Heller on December 28, 1950. She had 8 children. The couple traveled and moved a lot with Don's jobs and lived in places such as Great Falls, MT, Scottsbluff, NE and Cheyenne, WY. Alyce lived in different areas of Fremont. Alyce worked in her early years at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant at Mead, NE, was a waitress, then did setting up and selling photo sessions with Olan Mills, she later was employed at Western Electric, worked part time for the Bennington Public Schools, at Pendleton Woolen Mills in Fremont, for Schuyler Packing Plant and for Beches Home Health Care. Alyce divorced Donald in 1984. She married Richard Vetick on February 6, 1998. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, NE and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Fremont. Alyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going dancing and cooking. She loved having her family together for big cookouts and parties, and attending grandkids and great grandkids school programs, sporting events and activities. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, David and Gwen Heller of Omaha, NE, Jon and Lu Williams of Belleville, IL, Donald and Rita Heller of Austin, MN and Daniel and Lori Heller of Elkhorn, NE; daughters, Deborah and Dean Slechta of Bennington, NE, Denise and John McDuffee of Scribner, NE, Della and Monte Davis of Elkhorn, NE and Diana and Rod Lofqest of Laurel, NE; step-sons, Ronald and Geraldine Vetick and Donald Vetick all of Silver Creek and Jerry Vetick of Columbus, NE; step-daughters, Mary Lou and Gary Beringer of Bellwood, NE, and Kathleen and David Miller of Clarks, NE; 27 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild; brothers, Marvin and Marlene Koglin of Omaha, NE and Larry and Lois Koglin of Scribner, NE; sisters, Audrey Buhrman of Scribner, NE, Evelyn and Dale Kinney of North Bend, NE, Dianne and Daniel Ryan of Omaha, NE and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Martha Koglin; brother, Herbert Allen and son-in-law, Dale Christianson. Funeral service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hooper, NE. The Rev. Joel Schroeder officiating. Visitation Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Visitation Wednesday at church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will be at the Scribner Cemetery in Scribner, NE.
