Read More	Big Timber Pioneer, Feb. 1920 Funeral Services for Amanda Jasper Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Jasper, who died at Chico Hot Springs Thursday morning, February 19, were held in the Congregational church Saturday afternoon, with Rev. E. R. Bellingham preaching the sermon to a congregation largely made up of old friends and neighbors of the Boulder valley, her home for more than a quarter of a century. The one objective standing out clearly in Rev. Bellingham's discourse was that we who are left to mourn should obey the Golden Rule in our daily life; and with the doing of kindly acts, with generous, kindly and Christian thoughts with the giving of flowers and the sympathy they express to the living and not altogether to the dead as our life habit we will leave an enviable record here below, while we take the evidence of such a life into the beyond. Favorite hymns--"My Faith Looks Up to Thee," "Nearer My God to Thee," and "Just As I Am", were sung by a selected quartette. The pall bearers were, with one exception, valley residents: Robert Brownlee, G. A. Loasby, C. L. Bryan, Jacob Wagner, Chas. McKinzie and J. B. Furley. The casket was covered and the pulpit banked with a profusion of beautiful flowers, mute messengers, as always, of the tender sympathy for the immediate family and a tribute of love and honor for her who has passed on. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery, west of the city. Amanda Jane Dutton was born at Somerset, Ky., August 29, 1857, where she made her early home. She was married to Galen A. Jasper in August 1876. Of this union three children were born, all of whom survive her and have their homes in the Boulder valley--two sons --Oliver Perry and Tomas Marion and one daughter (Alice) Mrs. Albert A. McComb. Two brothers are also left- William, who resides in the Valley, and Silas, living in the old home in Kentucky. Their four grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. After Mr. Jasper's death, Mrs. Jasper with her little family, came to Montana in 1892, living here continuously since. She followed nursing for a number of years and visited as a merciful agent, a great number of homes over the county, which are saddened with the passing of the woman of kindly deeds and tender ministering fingers which so often relieved the suffering of their dear ones; and are extending their sincere sympathy to the family at this time.
