When nine years of age she moved with her parents to Iowa where she grew to womanhood and was married to Harlan Jamison in the year 1865. Mr. and Mrs. Jamison moved to Kansas in 1867 settling south of McCune in Cherokee county, and came to Cherokee in 1878, where Mr. Jamison died in 1886. When nine years of age she moved with her parents to Iowa where she grew to womanhood and was married to Harlan Jamison in the year 1865. Mr. and Mrs. Jamison moved to Kansas in 1867 settling south of McCune in Cherokee county, and came to Cherokee in 1878, where Mr. Jamison died in 1886. Mrs. Jamison has been living with her son, Harlan E. at Baxter Springs for the last few years. She has been a member of the M.E. church for more than 45 years. She passed to her reward on January 17, 1924 at the home of her son in Baxter Springs, leaving three sons of the immediate family, besides grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The sons are Jas. W. and Harlan E. of Baxter Springs and Harold J. of California. Grandma Jameson,* will be remembered by all old residents of Cherokee. As a boy we can remember her living in the south part of town, neighbors to our uncle, Wm. Warner, and we played with her boys and the neighborhood children, and we can never forget how nice she was to us children. She was a fine woman. For many years she has been afflicted and her son, Dick, and his good wife and fine boys have taken the best of care of her, and now that she has gone they can look back and say "Mother always had the best of everything." We extend sympathy to the family. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Cherokee by Rev. E.L. Torrence on Friday afternoon and interment made in the Cherokee cemetery. * The name is spelled both Jamison and Jameson in various articles in the Cherokee newspaper.
