Description	:	Son of John West Maulding and Celia Rosanna Tear. Married Sarah Malinda "Sally" Huddleston (daug of John Huddleston and Mary Baty), Dec 25, 1851 at her sister, Peggy Jolliff's house near Rover, Oregon Co, MO. Had one of the best farms around West Plains (Howell/Oregon Co area), Mo, but moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas about 1868/69 because he wanted to get his sons away from the influence of the "James Gang," who frequented the area, especially his wife's brother's farm (John George Huddleston). About 1878 the Mauldings and other families went in covered wagons to Oregon. Son Wes' wife Rebecca died on the way near Pike's Peak, and not long afterward the Maulding family left the wagon train and went back to Arkansas. The Whiteleys, Rebecca's mother and step-father, went on to Oregon. Later several of the family went to Oklahoma and Ambrose homesteaded land beside his son Dave near Gerty, OK. They stayed in OK the required number of years then sold their farms. Ambrose went back to his farm in Arkansas in 1904 and Dave went to Texas. In 1908 son Charlie moved to Ok. His mother Sally wanted to go with them, so she convinced Ambrose to sell his farm and move to Ok. She died there and Ambrose moved back to Ark. where he died and was buried in Grandview, Ark. near Wes and Adeline.
