Description	:	Emilie "Amelia" Wilhelmine Zeitz was born to parents Michael Herman Fredrich Zeitz and Ernestine Friedrike Reddin on February 7, 1869 in Stettin, Pommern, Germany. She was baptized on February 28, 1869, according to the Pomerania Parish Registry in Schonwerder. She and her family immigrated to the United States on April 20, 1892, arriving at Baltimore, Maryland. From Baltimore, they moved westward to Ortonville, Minnesota, staying for a short time. Read More	Emilie "Amelia" Wilhelmine Zeitz was born to parents Michael Herman Fredrich Zeitz and Ernestine Friedrike Reddin on February 7, 1869 in Stettin, Pommern, Germany. She was baptized on February 28, 1869, according to the Pomerania Parish Registry in Schonwerder. She and her family immigrated to the United States on April 20, 1892, arriving at Baltimore, Maryland. From Baltimore, they moved westward to Ortonville, Minnesota, staying for a short time. From there they moved further west to Big Stone, South Dakota. There she met her husband, Herman Goltz. They were married on January 13, 1893. From there she and her husband moved to Casselton, ND where they resided until Herman died on September 25, 1894. They had one child together, a son, Edward Goltz. On March 27, 1895 she married August Greuel in Casselton, ND. They moved to their farm in Lynchburg, ND where she lived for about 45 years. After August's death she moved from the family farm to Casselton, ND where she resided until she went to live at St. Frances Nursing Home in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She lived there for about six years until her death on Tuesday, January 22, 1957. She was 87. Amelia was a member of the Goshen Moravian Church in Durbin. Her survivors are her sons, Edward Goltz of Leonard, ND, Paul Greuel, Elmer Greuel, and Reinhold Greuel of Leonard, ND, Hugo Greuel and Arthur Greuel of Durbin, ND; daughters, Lydia Burtell of Casselton, ND, and Hilda Greuel of Durbin, ND; 16 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Preceded her in death were her two husbands, Herman Goltz and August Greuel; sons Edward Greuel and Franklin Greuel; a brother Carl Zeitz of Lansford, ND; sisters, Martha Zuchlsdorf of Fargo, ND, Friedricka Schellberg of Ortonville, Minnesota, Dorothea Lightfoot of Ogema, Saskatchewan, Canada, Wilhelmina Albert of Mayville, ND, Bertha Forest of Casselton, ND, and Mary Johnson of Missoula, Montana. The Rev. Allen Lenius, Associate Pastor of Goshen Moravian Church presided at the funeral rites on Friday, the 25th of January. Services were held at 1:30 pm in the West Chapel and at 2:30pm in the Goshen Moravian Church. Interment was at the Goshen Moravian Church Cemetery. NOTE: Stettin, Germany is now Szczecin, Poland.
