She moved with her family to Wakefield in 1919, and attended schools there. She was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. She married Vern L. Carlson on June 24, 1937. Vern died March 27, 1984. She enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends and was a member of Covenant Women. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Dennis and Ellen Carlson of Wakefield, Dianne and Marv Schubert of Sioux City and David and Shari Carlson of San Antonio, Texas; four grandsons; three granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Arthur and Eunice Hansen of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Edna Hansen of Wakefield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather; four sisters; and a brother.
