Casketbearers were Bert Ren-shaw, Fred Textor, Clifford Hayes, Forrest Smith, Clarence Bowman and Jacob Miller. In-terment was in the Coon Rapids cemetery. Following is the life sketch as read by the Rev. Alexander: America Jane Dobson, daughter of Sumner and Mary Dobson, was born April 23, 1857, in Tama county, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Cretsinger of Coon Rapids, on Feb. 11, 1944. She had reached the age of 86 years, 9 months and 18 days. She was educated in the country schools of Tama county and the Marshalltown high school, af-ter which she taught music for a number of years in Tama county. On March 16, 1879, she was united in marriage to William C. Clifford at Garwin, Iowa. They moved to Audubon countyAudubon county in 1888. Thus she has been a resi-dent of this community for 55 years. Mr. Clifford passed away on Sept. 5, 1928 The second break in the family circle came on Jan 1 of this year when Floyd preceded his mother in death. Mrs. Clifford is survived by her son, Ross, and her daughter, Mrs. Harry Cretzinger, both of Coon Rapids. There are five grand-children Dwight W. and William R., both in the armed services of our country; Mrs. Delores Olson of Omaha and Marlin and Reta at home. There is one great grandchild. Also one brother Truman W. Dobson of Garwin, Iowa, and one sister Mrs. Dora Dick of Madison, Wisconsin. Mrs. Clifford united with the church early in life. She trans-ferred her membership to the Coon Rapids First Methodist Church in 1918 and was a regular attendant of the Dorcas Church School class and the wor-ship services until her health failed some six months ago.
