Casket bearers were Roscoe Miller, Fred Pingrey, Allen and John Sampson, Bert Renshaw and George Textor. Interment was in the family lot in the Coon Rapids cemetery. The obituary as read by the Rev. Alexander follows. Floyd Summer Clifford son of William and America Clifford, was born March 1, 1881, in Tama county, Iowa, and departed this life on January 1, 1944. He had reached the age of 62 years and 8 months. As a small child he came with his parents to Audubon county where he grew to manhood. On February 10, 1904, he was united in marriage to Miss Ada Smith at Viola Center: To this union one son, Dwight W., was born. In the year of 1911, Mr. Clifford moved to Canada. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1915, and served his adopted country for the next three years, most of which was overseas. In 1928 he was called back to Iowa by the death of his father, and for the next nine years he made his home with his mother in Coon Rapids. On Nov. 3, 1937, Mr. Clifford was united in marriage to Ellen Cady at Nashua , Iowa. They moved to Williams, Iowa, in 1940, where they resided until the time of his death. He joined the Evangelical Church at Viola Center as a young man. Mr. Clifford spent most of his life at the occupation of farming. Mr. Clifford is survived by his wife, his son Dwight W., of the Army Air Corps at Wichita Falls, Texas; his stepson, Stanley; his aged mother, Mrs. Will Clifford, of Coon Rapids; one brother, Ross W., and; one sister, Mrs. Leota Cretsinger, both of Coon Rapids.
