Description	:	Amos A. Brooks, of the Good Samaritan Center died at 1:50 a.m. Nov. 1, 1985, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born April 17, 1886 in Wapello Co. to Albert and Arena Bilby Brooks. He was a retired farmer and charter member of the Midway Calvary Baptist Church. He married Elsie A. Thomas on Nov. 6, 1907 in Wapello Co. She died in1983. He is survived by three sons, Albert of Des Moines, Vonnie of Agency, and Roger of Floris. Four dau. He is survived by three sons, Albert of Des Moines, Vonnie of Agency, and Roger of Floris. Four dau. Ina Morgan of Des Moines, Neva Benge of Bloomfield, Alice Cherry of Wichita, KS and Josephine Wieneke of Nixa, MO. 35 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons and a dau. The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ottumwa Baptist Temple, the Rev. A.D. Pringle officiating. Burial will be in the Fiedler Cem. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The casket will remain at the Johnson Funeral Chapel until 11:00 a.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church and closed as service begins. Visitation is after noon Sunday at the funeral chapel with the family visitation from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers; Roger & Gary Batterson, Phillip & Amos Wieneke, William & Clifford Jr., Benge Organist- Gladys Jones; Vocalist- Pam Reed. Songs; In Times Like These, Pass Me Not and Because He Lives.
