He married Mary O'Connor March 19, 1930, in Des Moines. He was reared in Floris and moved to Des Moines 64 years ago. He worked at Iowa Pack in the casing dept., retiring in 1964. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 165 in Des Moines. He is survived by his wife, a dau. Shirley Brown of Des Molines; four grch; seven ggrch; four sisters, Ina Morgan of Des Moines, Neva Benge of Bloomfield, Alice Cherry of Wichita. KS and Josephine Wieneke of Clever, MO.; and two brothers, Roger of Floris and LaVerne of Agency. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Emery and Larry; and a sister Olive Batterson. The service will be 2 p.m. today at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Des Moines. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines. Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines is in charge of arrangements.
