Description	:	There passed away at his home in Union Square on Sunday morning Jan. 17th, 1943, Amos Ernst a respected resident at the age of 73 years. He had been in poor health for a number of years. He took ill and the doctor was called on Wednesday. He began weaken and on Sunday morning death ended his sufferings and he was called home, where there is no sickness and suffering. Mr. Ernst was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church. Read More	There passed away at his home in Union Square on Sunday morning Jan. 17th, 1943, Amos Ernst a respected resident at the age of 73 years. He had been in poor health for a number of years. He took ill and the doctor was called on Wednesday. He began weaken and on Sunday morning death ended his sufferings and he was called home, where there is no sickness and suffering. Mr. Ernst was a lifelong member of the Anglican Church. He was the bell-ringer until his ill health prevented him from doing so. He was one of the oldest residents of this place. He was the owner of a flour mill and many a bag of flour was handled by him. His wife, Lavinia, who predeceased him passed away at the D.M. Hospital, Bridgewater, on September 8th 1942. He is survived by six sons and seven daughters. They are Freeman, who resides at the old homestead, Union Square; Howard, New Hampshire, U.S.A.; Joseph, Blockhouse; Charles, Upper Northfield; Ray, Watford; Obie in the Canadain Army at North Bay, Ont. The daughters are; (Alice) Mrs. Bennett Veinot, Union Square; (Mary) Mrs. Helmar Olsen, Maryland, U.S.A.; (Grace) Mrs. Ira macKay, (Vera) Mrs. Geo. MacKay, (Genevieve)Mrs. Leon Veinot, all of Upper Northfield; Minnie and Maudie at home. Minnie had been living in Boston, U.S.A. but was called home by the illness and death of her mother. Mr. Ernst wasa the son of the late Benjamin and Bella (Fiendel) Ernst. Five brothers, Obie, Allan, Willie, Anthony and Harry living in the United States, all survive him, also 24 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
