Description	:	Mrs. A.D. Peebles died Friday, June 17, 1910, at he home in Eureka, aged 61 years. Amy Downs was born in Shelby county, Illinois, June 20, 1849. She had been an invalid for the past seven years, her last illness extending three months and her suffering was very severe, but she bore it patiently. She was married May 24, 1865, to A.D. Peebles. She is also survive by a number of grandchildren. Mrs. Peebles was a member of the Church of Christ. She possessed a beautiful character and was a devoted wife, mother and friend. Funeral services conducted by G.G. Horne, pastor of the Church of Christ were held Saturday, June 18, at 2:30 o'clock and interment was in Greenwood cemetery. From Eureka Herald 23 June 1910 page 1.
