Description	:	MRS. AMY MARTIN Amy Andrews was born near Marietta, Ohio on January 22, 1839, and died at her home April 29, 1923, aged 84 years, 3 months and 17 days. She came with her people to Iowa in 1846 and settled at Center Point. On January 22, 1861 she was married to Benjamin F. Martin. Shortly after marriage Mr. Martin was called away to the war and Mrs. Martin had the care of the home and a child until his return, three years later, when they began life on a farm near Center Point. Four children... Read More	MRS. AMY MARTIN Amy Andrews was born near Marietta, Ohio on January 22, 1839, and died at her home April 29, 1923, aged 84 years, 3 months and 17 days. She came with her people to Iowa in 1846 and settled at Center Point. On January 22, 1861 she was married to Benjamin F. Martin. Shortly after marriage Mr. Martin was called away to the war and Mrs. Martin had the care of the home and a child until his return, three years later, when they began life on a farm near Center Point. Four children have preceded her in death. Three are living, Evi and Essie at home with the father and Mrs. Pearl Brody of near Urbana. Mr. and Mrs. Martin moved from the farm to Center Point about 30 years ago and have lived since that time in the present home. She has been a member of the Christian church for more than 40 years. She has been a constant Bible reader. She has been an invalid for the past 14 years and her daughter, Essie has been at home with her with but a few days away in all that time. The family appreciate and wish at this time to express their gratitude for the kindness and help of neighbors and friends. A life of hard pioneering toll has ended but her life was worthy and while the parting is sad, we rejoice in the hope and promise of Jesus the Savior, our trusted friend. The funeral was held from the house at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W. R. Foster officiating. Interment in the Center Point cemetery.
