Read More	BARNES, AMY LOUISE—Amy Louise Garrett was born August 7, 1890, near Geneva, Neb., and died at Fairfield, Neb., May 10, 1922, at the age of 32 years 9 months and 3 days. She was married at Geneva, Neb., March 9, 1910 to Edward J. Barnes. To this union were born four children, three sons, and one daughter: Clarence aged eleven, Jesse aged nine, Mildred aged eight, and Francis aged two. Besides the husband and four children, the deceased is survived by her father, W. H. Garrett of Geneva, two brothers, Harold of Strang and William of Geneva, and four sisters, Mrs. B. H. McMahan of Colorado Springs, Col, Mrs. J.S. Crom of Shakope, Minn., Mrs. Dora James and Mrs. John Voigtlander of Geneva. Her mother, Mrs. W. H. Garrett, and oldest sister, Mrs. W.H. Crawford, preceded her in death four and eight years ago respectively. Mrs. Barnes united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Geneva in her early married life. She devoted much time to community affairs, serving as president of the Central Union Woman's club for two years and recently accepting the leadership of the Lone Tree Girls Sewing club. Foremost of all her activities and plans was her family, endeared to her by her devotion and constructive motherhood. Next to them, is a wide circle of friends throughout her home community and the community of her girlhood. A service was held at the family home four miles southwest of Clay Center at 1 p.m. Friday, and was conducted by Rev. Mr. Beebe of the Clay Center Methodist church. The body was then brought to the home of her father, William H. Garret in Madison township northeast of Geneva. Following prayer at the Garrett home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the funeral party proceeded to the Geneva Methodist Episcopal church where a service was conducted by Rev. R. H. Thompson. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The Nebraska Signal, March 25, 1922 page 10.
