She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; a son-in-law, Leon Blair; three grandchildren and two sisters. Ruth was born May 6, 1911, in Clarence, Iowa, the youngest daughter of Charles and Eleanor Green Wilkin. She started attending Clarence, Iowa, schools and graduated from high school in Sedalia, Mo. After graduating, she made her home in Oxford Junction, Iowa, and on Dec. 28, 1931, married Edward H. Lietz in Anamosa. They made their home in Oxford Junction, where Ed worked for the railroad. In the early 1940s, they moved to Wyoming, Iowa, where they lived their entire married lives. Ed died in June 1989. In 1992, Ruth moved to Marion, where she made her home with her daughter. Ruth was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Lutheran Sarah Circle Women and a 67-year member of American Legion Wyoming Auxiliary Unit 259, all of Wyoming.
