OBITUARY - Nevada Journal June 21, 2001 Anderson "Andy" E. Coggshall, 91, of Nevdad died Tuesday, June 12 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines from a heart ailment. He was born Oct. 11, 1909 to Clarence and Ruth (Shields)Coggshall near Cambridge on the family farm. He graduated from Nevada High School and the University of Iowa, where he earned his master's degree in chemistry. He married Mary Moran on Jan. 1, 1932. He taught school in Oklahoma for 13 years, then moved back to Iowa in 1944 to farm. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada, the Nevada Rotary Club, Farm Bureau, and was chairman of the Gates Hall Board. He had also served as secretary of the Shipley School Board for many years, had served on the Youth and Shelter Service Board in Ames, was chairman of the Regency Board and had served as Story County Supervisor for four years. He enjoyed community service and his family. Survivors include his wife Mary, of Nevada; two sons, John C. (and Vally) Coggshall of New Haven, Conn., and Kermit D. (and Janis) Coggshall of Dallas, Texas; a daughter, Linda (and Roger) Nielsen of Egan, Minn.; eight granchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Friday, Jun 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Youth and Shelter Services of Story County. Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada handled arrangements.
