Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery immediately following Mass. Andrew A. Gisi was born October 16, 1941 to Andrew Sr. and Caroline (Schoch) Gisi in Hosmer, SD. Andy was raised, attended and graduated school in Hosmer. Andy was united in marriage to Lois Spiering at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol, SD on June 19, 1965. Their union was blessed with five children. The family made their home in Aberdeen. Andy worked for Hartung Construction for several years before becoming employed with South Dakota Wheat Growers, where he remained until the time of his retirement in 2006. Andy was known for his loyalty and quality of work. Andy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Loyal Order of the Moose and a former member of the Elks Lodge #1046 in Aberdeen. He enjoyed watching local high school and college basketball teams, playing softball, bowling and dealing cards. Andy maintained a contractor’s license which he used for servicing independent grain elevators. Andy was a craftsman and had a large collection of tools. He was also an avid coin collector. Andy’s greatest happiness was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Grateful to have shared Andy’s life is his wife of nearly 50 years, Lois; one son, Tim; three daughters: Tami Keller, Tonia Poirier and Tracy Salwei; nine grandchildren; and two sisters: Katy Burrer and Frances Grabowski.
