Rose Mary (Gisi) Hanaburgh was born Aug. 31, 1943. She was the youngest child born to Andrew and Carolina (Schoch) Gisi. Rose Mary grew up in Hosmer and attended Hosmer Elementary and High School graduating with the class of 1961. She then attended Milwaukee Area Technical College, graduating with a degree as a Dental Hygienist. She later returned to Aberdeen and worked at St. Luke's Hospital before moving to New York in 1967. Rose married Russell John Hanaburgh on July 6, 1968. They made their home at Putnam Lake, N.Y. She was very active with Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Putnam Lake. She was a member of the church choir, Rosary Altar Society, taught CCD for many years and was a past Scout Leader. After her husband died in 1997, she returned to Hosmer to take care of her mother. Later, Rose and her mother moved to Aberdeen to help her ailing sister. After her mother and sister died in July and September 2000, she stayed in Aberdeen and worked at Prairie Crossing Assisted Living Center until she moved back to Hosmer. While in Hosmer she was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Christian Mothers and the American Legion Auxiliary. Rose Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Ann (Timothy) Morse of Southbury, Conn., and Carolina Marlene (Brian) O'Connell of Putnam Lake, N.Y.; her son, Russell Andrew and friend Jennifer Robson of Putnam Lake, N.Y. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, William Vaillancourt, Ian Morse, Jake and Jesse O'Connell and Adrianna Morse; three brothers, Ludwig (Marcella) Gisi of Pitcairn, Pa., Frank (Marlene) Gisi of Hosmer, and Andrew (Lois) Gisi of Aberdeen; five sisters, Leona Angerhofer of Manson, Wash., Katy Burrer of Hosmer, Agnes (Don) Roberts of So. Milwaukee, Wis., Frances Grabowska of Zimmerman, Minn., and Carolyn (Gary) Rath of Aberdeen. Her husband, parents, brothers, Albert, Joseph and Paul, sisters, Otilia, Barbara and Florence as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death. Ushers will be Marvin Dutenhoffer and Gary Weishaar. The family requests memorials in Rose's memory be directed to North Plains Hospice, 305 State Street, Aberdeen, SD 57401.
