Description	:	Andrew Arthur Dillman, the son of John Thomas and Callie Bales Dillman was born August 16, 1906, at Ceres, Bland County, Virginia, and passed away March 1, 1987, at the Methodist Midtown Care Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Read More	Andrew Arthur Dillman, the son of John Thomas and Callie Bales Dillman was born August 16, 1906, at Ceres, Bland County, Virginia, and passed away March 1, 1987, at the Methodist Midtown Care Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Andrew was baptized in the home at an early age and attended the Red Oak Church near Ceres. Following the death of his mother, the family moved from Virginia to a farm near Ruskin, Nebraska, in 1912. Most of his early life was spent in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. On June 15, 1930, he was married to Mary E. Jessup. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Dee Ann. Andrew started his business life in the employ of W.E. Miles Drug Store in Nelson, Nebraska. He was later employed in Nelson by the Goodrich Grocery and the Portwood Company. He moved his family to Hastings in 1940 where he was employed by Jack and Jill Food Stores. He was manager of several of their stores in Nebraska and at one time he and his wife, Mary, owned the Lexington store. After selling the store in Lexington, the family moved to Grand Island, where he remained with the Company until his retirement. Andrew and Mary moved from Grand Island to Omaha in 1980 after their home was destroyed by a tornado. He was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, Molly, and two brothers, Ivan and Elmer. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter and son-in-law, Dee Ann and Fred Henke; grandchildren, Douglas and Kymberly; one sister, Ethel Clabaugh of Nelson; and two brothers, Henry of Nelson and Woodrow of Omaha. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 1987, at the Crosby-Kurket Chapel in Omaha. The Rev. Kirk Rychman of the Presbyterian Church of the Cross officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Park in Omaha. Those from this area attending funeral services for Andrew Dillman in Omaha, Wednesday were Henry Dillman, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Clabaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Clabaugh and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ruttman.
