He was 84 years of age. His parents and family emigrated to the United States in 1893 coming to Fremont, Nebraska, later to Howard County in Spring Creek precinct. Read More	The Wolbach Messenger, December 23, 1971, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Andrew Christensen was born on May 2nd, 1887 at Juland, Denmark to Lars and Christina (Fredricksen) Christensen and died as the result of an accident on Saturday morning, December 11th. He was 84 years of age. His parents and family emigrated to the United States in 1893 coming to Fremont, Nebraska, later to Howard County in Spring Creek precinct. Shortly after they homesteaded at Dannevirke, where Andrew grew to manhood. He engaged in farming, cattle feeding and horse trading. He served in the United States army from June 28, 1918 to February 14, 1919 when he was honorably discharged. He returned to Dannevirke where he operated the Dannevirke store along with his farming and cattle operations. He was united in marriage to Miss Blanche Lucille Klein on February 7, 1927 at Chicago, Illinois. They lived at Dannevirke until 1944 when they moved to a farm near St. Paul. Four sons were born to this union. Mrs. Christensen died March 27, 1962, and Mr. Christensen made his home in St. Paul. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had served as Deacon. He was active in the American Legion, Carl Mogensen Post 119 at St. Paul, in which he was a past commander. Andrew visited the sick daily at the hospital, nursing home and the Veterans hospital. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, Anton, Martin, Ras and Einor and a sister Mrs. Christina Mortensen as well as his wife Blanche. Surviving him are his sons, Marshall of Grand Island, Gordon of Omaha, Rolland R. (Bobby) of St. Paul and Jerald of Imperial Beach, California; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Laura Nielsen of Laramie, Wyoming and other relatives.
