Description	:	Andrew F. Piper, 90, of El Dorado, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Sand Piper Bay Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wichita. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Carlson Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. He was born Aug. 2, 1916 at Clements, the son of Henry Gusman and Margaret (Maggie) Giffler Piper. He was born Aug. 2, 1916 at Clements, the son of Henry Gusman and Margaret (Maggie) Giffler Piper. He graduated from El Dorado High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Andrew worked for Skelly, Getty, Texaco Refinery where he worked on the blender unit. He made his home in El Dorado for 57 years before moving to Wichita to be near his sons. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, El Dorado and the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union. Andrew was an outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He lived at Fall River for a while to be able to fish and hunt more. On May 16, 1940 he married Ruby May Star in a ceremony in Oil Hill. Survivors include: his wife, of the home; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Helen Piper and David and Marie Piper, all of Wichita; sister, Hazel Zang of Goddard; eight grandchildren, Eric R. Piper of Bates City, Mo., Bryan Piper of Miami Gardens, Fla., Michelle, Hunt of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, Scott Piper of Logans Port, Ind., Kelly Nance of Augusta and Julie Holdren of Franklin, Tenn., Debbie Mitchell and Jennifer Sorochty, both of Wichita; and ten great-grandchildren, Bethany Ann Piper, Rachel Ann Holdren, Ryan Sorochty, Anna Sorochty, William Sorochty, Erica Piper, Nathan Piper, Preston Hunt, Brady Hunt and Sabrina Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Memorials in his memory for the Parkinson Association may be left with Carlson Funeral Home who has the arrangements.
