Description	:	At 3:20 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his home in Yell township occured the death of Andrew Jackson Lamb, another of the best known residents of the county, after an illness lasting more than a year with cancer. The funeral services were held from the Hickory Grove School house at 11:00 o'clock Thursday morning, conducted by the Rev J.C. Crawford. The six sons acted as pall bearers. The funeral services were held from the Hickory Grove School house at 11:00 o'clock Thursday morning, conducted by the Rev J.C. Crawford. The six sons acted as pall bearers. Practically the entire community turned out to do honor to the memory of this worthy pioneer settler, who had been a sincere friend and neighbor to them. A number of friends from Boone were present also. The remains were laid to rest in the Bluff Creek cemetery. He was born in Kentucky, March 4, 1828 and was almost eighty years old at the time of his death. His parents died when he was quite young and he was reared in the family of his uncle, Andrew Johnson. When a young man he removed to Terre Haute, Indiana and later to Stevenson county, Illinois. Here on Dec. 20, 1854 he was united in marriage with Miss Edith Grigsby. To them were born eleven children, eight sons and three daughters, two of the daughters and three of the sons have preceded him in death. Mrs Lamb died in 1884, and in 1885 he was again married to Mrs Maggie Colwell and she with one son survives. He came to Boone county in 1864 and settled near Centerville where he continued to reside until his death. He is survived by the widow, six sons, Harvey Moses, J.W., J.S., George W. and Norman, and one daughter Mrs Rosetta Grant Overman, all of whom were present at the funeral and to whom is given the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement.
