Olin Died Today IN Colorado Well Known Winfield Resident Passes Away Death Due To Jaundice Body is Being Brought Home, and Funeral Will Be Held Tomorrow at Home at 614 East Ninth Avenue. A.J. Olin, a well known resident of Winfield died today at Manitou, Colorado, from a severe attack of jaundice. The body is being brought home and the funeral will be held some time Sunday at the home at 614 East Ninth avenue. The news of his death was received this afternoon in a telegram to his brother-in-law, Robert Farnsworth. He with his son, Frank Olin, went out there two months ago on account of the latter's health. Mr. Olin has lived in Winfield for more than twenty years and is well known here. He was eighty years of age and in poor health for some time previous to his death. No other particulars, further than the announcement of his death were received in the message. Olin, Who died Yesterday at Manitou, Colo., Served Four Years - Funeral Tomorrow. The death of A.J. Olin, which occurred yesterday at Manitou, Colo., takes away from this vicinity another old soldier, as well as a resident of many years of this community. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at three o'clock at the Christian church, conducted by Rev. Albert Nichols. Mr. Olin was born in New York in 1831. He served four years in the Civil War, in the Fourth Iowa infantry. He came to Kansas twenty-eight years ago, and settled three miles southwest of Winfield. About fifteen years ago he moved into the city, where he resided to the time of his death. He was married forty-six years ago, and is survived by his wife and three children, one of whom, Frank Olin lives in this city. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield)
