Description	:	Parents, Elmer and Nora (Hoy) Rue. He grew up in the Humboldt, NE. area and graduated from high school there. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from Jan. 27, 1950 to Jan. 28, 1954. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force. Andy enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served his country from Jan. 30, 1954 until he retired in Jan. of 1970. Following retirement he lived in OR. for a couple years and in July of 1973 was united in marriage to Alice (VanDeventer) Phillips in Reno, NV. The couple moved back to Humboldt. they... He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from Jan. 27, 1950 to Jan. 28, 1954. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force. Andy enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served his country from Jan. 30, 1954 until he retired in Jan. of 1970. Following retirement he lived in OR. for a couple years and in July of 1973 was united in marriage to Alice (VanDeventer) Phillips in Reno, NV. The couple moved back to Humboldt. they then owned and operated The North Side Cafe. After selling the cafe, Andy and Alice moved to Grand Prairie, TX. They eventually moved back to Humboldt to stay. Andy died at the Colonia Acres Nursing Home at the age of 75 years and 18 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melva Rue; duaghters Sharon Peters and Debra Schultz; brothers; R.D. "Tubby"., E.E. "Bubby" , and Bazil "Baz" Rue, and sisters Oleta Van Deventer and Amy Blecha. Surviving are his wife, Alice Rue of Humboldt; son Wesley Rue of OR; daughter Jackie Rue of OR. son-in-law Richard "Butch" Schultz, Humboldt, 6 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Memorial services at Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt. Military honors were conducted at his graveside.
